Painting (2025)
I am painting on a cool winter night,
drinking bland water left for too long.
Working with a light color palette,
tints of cadmium red suffuse my right hand.
I am not painting for an assignment from school.
Neither am I painting snow for the cool winter.
It is the warm spring I am painting.
It is not the sprout, but the cherry blossoms I paint.
Toning the colors,
I sprinkle my favorite paints.
The cherry blossoms sparkle in the night,
and it looks like pink rain is falling.
